On March 1, 2021, Dr. Stefan Koenig will become Managing Director at OPTIMA packaging group GmbH. Together with Hans Buehler (Managing Director/CEO), Gerhard Breu (Chairman, Optima Pharma Division) and Jan Glass (CFO), Koenig will be responsible for continuing the development of the Optima Group. The primary focus will be on products and markets.

With the "Remote Assist" software solution Optima has found the right answer to today's challenges. This was the conclusion of the jury for the digital creative competition "The Annual Multimedia Award", who conferred a silver award on the support software. Optima's software experts developed the application in cooperation with the Crailsheim-based digital agency Stoll von Gáti, and they nominated the innovative product for the Annual Multimedia Award. The Annual Multimedia Award is one of the digital industry's most important prizes. 

At the end of 2020, the Optima Group entered a development partnership with the technology group Voith. The objective of this alliance is to develop sustainable paper packaging solutions. It is the first time that two companies from different phases in the supply chain will be working together on developing environmentally compatible alternatives to plastic packaging.

Optima Consumer has developed a solution concept for the fully automated evacuation, gassing and seaming of infant formula containers. OPTIMA EGS is the innovative machine concept that makes processes safer and more efficient.

Since October 2020, Senning GmbH has joined the Optima Group based in Schwaebisch Hall. The Bremen-based company specializes in the production and packaging of paper and tissue products.

At MIAC, Amotek is presenting innovative packaging machines for paper hygiene products. The main focus is on solutions for the most advanced ecological packaging available, made of paper, bio-plastics and other materials which are 100 percent recyclable or biodegradable.
