OPTIMA makes many new contacts at FachPack 2018

The new InlineCan packaging solution is generating a lot of interest from visitors

Optima recorded somewhat fewer visitors at FachPack 2018 than at the 2016 event. “It’s increasingly true that the trade fair as we know it is coming under pressure – because of the availability of up-to-date information online and competition from in-house events,” commented Ulrich Burkart, Director Sales Food Solutions at Optima Consumer. “As such, the proportion of visitors who were not previously aware of us is an important figure. We are really happy that around 15% were people we hadn’t reached in previous years,” Burkart went on to say.
 
The InlineCan was a big attraction at the stand, and not only for consumers: A county council delegation from the district of Schwäbisch Hall was also interested in the new packaging solution. This packaging concept has already achieved recognition in the form of winning the German Packaging Award in 2018 in the merchandise presentation category. Hans Bühler, managing partner of Optima Packaging Group, was keen to point out its benefits, which not only include a striking appearance, but also notable barrier properties and practical handling for consumers. It means there is now no need to decant ground coffee. Since the start of the year, COFFEE³ organic ground coffee has been on sale in the InlineCan at Aldi Süd. Fabian Gottschalk from NewCoffee, the filling company responsible, emphasized his satisfaction with our forward-looking packaging solution, which offers an alternative to conventional vacuum packaging.
 
Visitors to the stand mostly came from Germany, and were predominantly concerned with filling and packaging solutions for the food, chemical and cosmetics industries. A significant number of new contacts and new projects was recorded, including a chemical industry order that was placed at the fair itself. Of the fair exhibits in display, visitors were most captivated by Optima’s video and pictures which presented key process details. The next FachPack is taking place from September 24 to 26, 2019, at Exhibition Center Nuremberg. Optima will be in attendance again.  



The Optima stand was part of the joint Packaging Valley Germany e.V. stand, and the InlineCan was one of the highlights there. The cardboard can attracted plenty of interest, with its striking appearance and unusual design.

The OPTIMA MODULINE, which was exhibited at FachPack, dispenses cosmetic powders very precisely into four-chambered jars.



The company also presented a product from its digital portfolio, in the form of its line management software solution OPAL.
This software is part of Optima Total Care’s lifecycle management package and supports producers in improving their overall equipment effectiveness.
